We want AlcoLog to be usable by as many people as possible. This page is an honest description of the accessibility features the app currently supports, what we are actively working on next, and how to reach us if something is not working for you. We keep it updated as we add more support.

This is a description of the accessibility features AlcoLog supports today. It is not a claim of conformance to any standard or legal requirement.

Supported accessibility features

The features AlcoLog supports differ slightly by device. Here is what is available today.

iPhone and iPad

Dark Interface. AlcoLog uses a dark color scheme across its screens to reduce eye strain and support low-light use.
Differentiate Without Color Alone. AlcoLog conveys information using text, numbers, shapes, and icons in addition to color, so meaning never depends on color alone. For example, your AlcoScore shows the numeric score and a written band name (not just a color), the History calendar shows day numbers and daily totals, and BAC estimates show the numeric value with a labeled state (Idle, Rising, or Declining).

Apple Watch

Dark Interface. On Apple Watch, the app uses a dark interface by default.
Differentiate Without Color Alone. As on iPhone, information is conveyed with text, numbers, shapes, and icons alongside color, so meaning never depends on color alone.
Sufficient Contrast. On Apple Watch, text is presented with high contrast against the dark background for readability.

What we're working on

We are actively improving accessibility in AlcoLog. The following are in progress and not yet supported. We are not putting dates on them, because we would rather ship them properly than promise a deadline, but they are real priorities:

VoiceOver support
Larger text (Dynamic Type)
Reduced-motion support

As each of these lands, we will move it up into the supported list above and note it in the "Last updated" date.
