AlcoLog v1.0.7 is rolling out this week, and it brings the biggest addition since launch: AlcoLog now speaks German. This is our first language beyond English, a clearer Favorites flow comes along with it, and the Premium free trial is now twice as long.

# Hallo, Deutschland: AlcoLog is now in German

AlcoLog is now fully localized in German (Deutsch). Not a partial translation of a few buttons: the whole app. Onboarding, your AlcoScore and its pillars, goals, alerts, history, settings, every screen reads naturally in German if that is your device language.

If your iPhone is set to German, AlcoLog switches automatically. There is nothing to turn on and no separate download. Set your phone back to English and it switches straight back. Your data is untouched either way, because as always everything stays on your device with no account involved.

A note on how we did it, because it matters for quality: the German copy was drafted carefully against a locked terminology glossary (so AlcoScore, sober streak, sessions, and the Pro and Premium tiers read consistently throughout) and then polished by a native German speaker before release. Translation that reads like it was written by a person, not a machine.

German is the first language in a longer plan. It was a natural place to start: a strong tracking-minded audience, and German’s longer words are a good stress test for every layout in the app. More languages will follow.

# Favorites, easier to build and browse

Favorites got two improvements:

  • Browse them any time. The Favorites screen is open to everyone to look through, so you can see what you have saved whenever you like.
  • Pick the exact drink type when you create one. Creating a favorite now includes a drink-type step, so you can set it as a beer, cider, a specific wine varietal, spirits, or a seltzer. Your favorites match what you actually drink, which keeps your logging and your numbers accurate.

# The Premium free trial is now 14 days

The free trial on Premium Monthly and Premium Yearly is now 14 days, up from 7. New subscribers get two full weeks to use the complete Premium tier (the Apple Watch app, the full widget and complication set, custom app icons, more saved locations, and detailed AlcoScore insights) before paying anything. Cancel any time during the trial and you will not be charged. This change is live now.

# Plus a round of polish

v1.0.7 also includes a set of bug fixes and small refinements across the app. Nothing headline-grabbing on its own, but together they make the everyday experience a little smoother.

Track smarter. Drink better. v1.0.7 is rolling out on the App Store now.
